The parallel repetitive lines remind us of fields seen from above where rows of trees create a pattern on the mountains and slopes of the Greek landscape.
The clay used is traditional Greek terracotta earthenware. The dish has been thrown on the ceramics weal. A blue and white slip has been applied for its decoration, it has been glassed and fired at 1060c degrees.
